Applying for a grant

Who can apply for funding?

Funding up to £2,000 can be made available to organisations, charities or community groups, which have a project that supports the objectives and aims of the Safer Suffolk Foundation:

  • Provide young people with positive activity and influence that helps develop good citizenship or helps prevent anti-social behaviour.
  • Improve community safety issues, particularly for elderly or vulnerable people.
  • Promote community cohesion, particularly for projects that bridge generation gaps or helps minority groups become part of the wider community.

The Safer Suffolk Foundation will not support:

 - Retrospective grants.
 - Direct replacement of statutory obligation and public funding.
 - Promotion of political or religious causes.
 - Groups with significant financial free reserves.
 - Grants to individuals or for personal need.
 - Contribution to endowment funds.
 - National charities that are not providing clear local benefits.
 - Payment of deficit funding or repayment of loans.
 - Overseas travel or expeditions for individuals and groups.
 - Sponsored or fundraising events.
 - Projects unable to start within nine months.

If you feel your organisation’s project is eligible for funding and would like to apply for a grant – please open and complete the application form, and return it to The Suffolk Foundation at the address below:
