What is the Safer Suffolk
Foundation?
In late 2008 the Constabulary
started working with an organisation called The Suffolk Foundation
to help manage the Constabulary’s charitable donations. The Suffolk
Foundation manages funds on behalf of individuals, companies,
trusts and public agencies, acting as the vital link between local
donors and local needs.
With its proven record of assisting charitable causes, The Suffolk
Foundation has helped ensure that the Constabulary supports
projects that seek to improve the quality of life of those living
and working in Suffolk.
As a result of this work the Constabulary has founded the Safer
Suffolk Foundation, a grant scheme chaired by Chief Constable Simon
Ash.
The Safer Suffolk Foundation is managed on behalf of the
Constabulary by The Suffolk Foundation, which handles the
administration of funds, including grant applications and
monitoring grants awarded.

How does the Safer Suffolk
Foundation generate money?
Money is generated by the sale of
lost or stolen items that, despite the Constabulary’s best efforts,
cannot be reunited with their rightful owner. Lost and stolen items
are sold through the national police property disposal
site Bumblebee
Auctions - opens in a new

Money is also generated through Suffolk SafeKey, the Constabulary’s
keyholder database. Further information on Suffolk SafeKey can
